Flint Under the Stars: Rock
Heat Above & WestFall
Fueled by catchy hooks and uplifting energy, Heat Above unleashes the kind of anthemic rock that’s fit for the stadium. With palpable energy and stage presence, the band creates a wall of sound with only a few instruments. Based near Flint, Michigan, the band consists of Jack Davis (bass/vocals), Michael Davis (lead guitar), and Brady Lott (drums/vocals). Formed in 2021, the trio has quickly established itself in the burgeoning Detroit-area music scene and has performed at popular venues like The Crofoot, The Machine Shop, The Blind Pig, Diesel Concert Lounge, The Token Lounge and Otus Supply. Heat Above has opened for Charlotte Sands, Yam Haus, Scotty Austin, Enuff Z’Nuff and Wildstreet.
WestFall is a Flint-based rock band that has recorded music and played venues for more than 15 years. Their members include Erik Hutson (bass/vocals), Bobby Kurtz (guitar/vocals), and Jarrod Montague (drums/vocals). They have three albums on iTunes, and in 2010, they released their music video “Industrial Rodent” on YouTube. They have played to thousands of fans in venues all across Michigan. In addition to an outstanding following of friends and family, their fan base grows with every performance. As they continue to build a solid future, WestFall has shared the stage with national recording artists, including Three Days Grace, Chevelle, Seether, Theory of a Deadman, Aaron Lewis, and dozens more.
Flint Under the Stars is a concert series that spotlights local talent, held on the third Wednesday of each month under the starry dome of the FIM Capitol Theatre. This series, which supports local artists by providing them with a professional performance experience, features a donate-what-you-wish ticket price. All proceeds benefit KidsTix, a program that expands access to the arts by providing admission to live performances for children and their families.
$10 per ticket is the recommended KidsTix donation for this concert, and we understand that some may be able to give more and some less. Every measure is appreciated, and everyone is welcome.
