Hiplet™
HIPLET™ fuses classical ballet pointe technique with hip-hop, African, Latin, and urban dance styles that are rooted in communities of color. The production was specifically designed to make ballet accessible to people of all backgrounds by mixing it with current, popular songs that are familiar to audiences who don’t normally attend ballet performances. Hiplet may incorporate the rhythms of African drums with Tchaikovsky, arabesques and beat-boxing, or even Tango en pointe – all while showcasing Hiplet‘s trademark vivacity, hip movements, and struts. Some of the popular music audiences are sure to recognize range from Black Violin to Beyonce. After features on Good Morning America, Buzzfeed, and The Huffington Post, this new art form went viral in spring 2016 and has now amassed more than a BILLION views. Since its debut, partnerships with Mercedes Benz, Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, New York and Paris Fashion Week, W Magazine, Versace, and Old Navy have culminated in an incredible worldwide demand for a live show featuring Homer Bryant’s innovative technique. Featuring 10 dancers, CMDC (Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center) is excited to partner with EVE Touring to bring HIPLET to audiences everywhere.

No re-entry
No Re-entry. Once your ticket has been scanned, please plan to stay and enjoy the entire performance. Patrons will not be allowed to re-enter.

Smoke/vape free zone
Smoke-Free Zones. All FIM venues are smoke-free. Per Michigan Law, Public Act 188, smoking is not allowed inside a venue or within 20 feet from the entrance to the building. Violators will be asked to leave. Vape-Free Zones. Vaping is not allowed anywhere within the venue. Violators will be asked to leave.

Weapon-Free Zones. Firearms and weapons of any kind, including concealed weapons and pocket knives are prohibited.

Assistive Listening Devices
Assistive listening devices are available at no charge. These devices are available from the FIM Whiting Auditorium lobby desk. A driver’s license, state-issued ID card or another form of security deposit is required.

Familiarization tours are offered to all patrons. Take a tour of the seating area and facilities before purchasing tickets. Guided tours for the visually impaired are available by appointment. Contact FIM Ticket Center to schedule your tour.
