FIA Patio Nights with FIM

Every Friday night in July and August, the Flint Institute of Arts brings its Palette Café outdoors to the patio, where guests can enjoy a beverage and a variety of tunes provided by FIM artists. Arrive early for a seat on the patio, or bring a chair or blanket to enjoy from the FIA lawn. Music plays from 6 – 7:30 p.m. each week, and artists vary in genre. There’s no better way to “wine down” at the end of a summer work week!

Tuesday Tunes at the Library

New this year, Music Around Town is partnering with the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library to provide music every other Tuesday evening on the Library lawn. Artists are still in the works, but the series will feature everything from opera to blues, and concerts will play from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Grab a blanket and a good book, and press pause on your work week to enjoy this Tuesday night treat on the following dates: July 9, July 23, August 6, August 20

Summer Stars

Summer Stars was inspired by the Flint School of Performing Arts’ annual Seeing Stars! Benefit. In its second year, this series creates an opportunity to encourage young talent in Flint and surrounding communities by providing a performance space and professional experience for student performers.

On the third Thursday of June, July and August, young people take the outdoor stage from 6 – 7:30 pm at Xolo in Downtown Flint to showcase their talent. Blackstone’s and Xolo will provide free food to sample, and you’re welcome to purchase drinks on the patio or bring a blanket to enjoy the performance from the lawn. No need to purchase anything to participate – all are welcome to come support Flint’s rising stars!
