Dailin Zeng, piano
Ondine’s Dream

Piano Instructor Dailin Zeng explores the power of music in depicting water in its many forms—stormy and restless, flowing and lyrical, fantastical and mysterious. The selected works for this recital, including Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 31 No. 2 “The Tempest”, Chopin’s Barcarolle Op. 60, and Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit, each paint a unique picture of water and its ever-changing essence. Beethoven’s Tempest evokes the energy of a passing storm, Chopin’s Barcarolle captures the gentle sway of Venetian waters, and Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit: I. Ondine brings to life the mythical water nymph, luring us into her shimmering world.
