Alexander Lee, saxophone
Time
There is nothing as universal as the passage of time. In all the experiences we have and the moments we share, time marches forever forward. Our most formative moments, our greatest joys, even scrolling on our phones are all made possible by the gift of time we have been given. This recital is a sonic tribute to time – a depiction of the memories of a time past, of the grooves of time passing by, of the dreams of a time to come.
Each of the selected works for solo saxophone and piano are a representation of ideas pertaining to time, including the aforementioned themes of grooves, memories, and dreams.
