Join us for the finals of this prestigious and exciting competition which draws contestants from around the world. The winner receives $6,000 and the opportunity to perform with Flint Symphony Orchestra.

The Competition is held each year by the St. Cecilia Society in memory of William C. Byrd, former FSO conductor. It continues his commitment of fostering the growth and development of young musicians. The Competition rotates among piano, strings and winds & brass, voice.

  • Accessible seating

    MacArthur Recital Hall is a small venue with limited accessible seating. Please inform the Patron Services Representative of any special needs you or your guests may have while purchasing tickets. Accessible seating is available for the patron and one companion.

  • Walkers & Wheelchairs

    Due to firecode, wheelchairs and walkers are only allowed in the accessible seating area and cannot be parked in the aisles.

  • Service Animal

    Service animals are welcome in FIM venues. Please contact FIM Ticket Center for accessible seating locations available for patrons with service animals.

  • Unaccompanied children

    Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Strollers and Car Seats

    For safety reasons, strollers and car seats are not allowed in the theatre.
