Public Safety Officer
Hiring both full-time and part-time positions.
About the Opportunity
Under the direction of the Public Safety Supervisor and Manager, the Public Safety Officer is responsible for safety of patrons and employees within the Flint Institute of Music building and the Flint Repertory Theatre.
Specific Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Conduct foot patrols of the buildings, ground and parking lots
- Respond to patron requests, as needed
- Ensure COVID response plans are followed for all patrons and employees.
- Be a first responder to any situation that would require security assistance
- Ensure buildings are secure at all times
- Monitor surveillance footage to verify there are no imminent threats
- Maintain communication with campus security at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be organized and able to multi-task
- Communication skills must be top notch
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Ability to maintain a calm and cheerful manner when under pressure
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to walk for repeated periods of time
- Must be able to push/pull/lift 50 lbs. minimally
- High school diploma required
- Security or public safety experience, a plus

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
