About the Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) to join our team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including schools, healthcare facilities, rehabilitation centers, and community programs. The therapist will design and implement music therapy interventions to support clients in achieving their therapeutic and wellness goals. 

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement individualized and group music therapy treatment plans based on client needs. 
  • Conduct assessments to determine the therapeutic needs and goals of each client. 
  • Utilize a variety of music-based interventions to support cognitive, emotional, social, and physical well-being. 
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, educators, and other professionals to ensure holistic care. 
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sessions and client progress. 
  • Participate in community outreach, program development, and advocacy efforts to expand access to music therapy services. 
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in the field. 
  • Be punctual and maintain regular attendance for scheduled sessions and administrative work. 

Qualifications

  • Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential required. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy from an AMTA-approved program. 
  • Experience working with diverse populations in clinical, educational, or community-based settings preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (some travel may be required). 

Compensation and Benefit Information 

  • Full-time, salaried position starting at $40,000 per year for Board-Certified Music Therapists (MT-BC), with pay commensurate with experience
