Under the direction of the Maintenance and Special Projects Manager, the Maintenance Technician will complete facility projects within the Flint Institute of Music Administration and the Flint Repertory Theatre buildings.

Responsibilities

  • As directed by the Maintenance and Special Projects Manager, ensure daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance items are complete throughout the building.
  • Repair broken or leaking plumbing.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the HVAC systems.
  • Replace light bulbs and fixtures, as needed.
  • Replace ceiling tiles and paint when necessary.
  • Assist in maintenance of court yards.
  • Apply preventative measures to reduce risk in the future.
  • Setup/ assist with set up for events when needed.
  • Community supplies needed.
  • Meet with vendors, as directed.
  • Assist with lot security for FSO concerts, when needed.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 year of maintenance experience required; landscaping, a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both in a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Positive demeanor and ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population

Compensation and Benefit Information:
