FIM truly believes the performing arts have the potential to change lives. Last year, in its inaugural season, 247 families took advantage of KidsTix, a fund that reduces the cost of attending performances for families with financial barriers. That’s 247 families who had a new opportunity to engage with performance like never before. To see themselves in the stories on stage, feel the joy of embracing their own creative spirits, and grow empowered to make their dreams a reality. Performing arts work a magic unlike any other, and no one should be denied the privilege to experience the lifelong advantages they provide.

We are eager to engage even more families in 2024-25 through KidsTix, especially with so many exciting family offerings at Whiting Auditorium! We hope you’ll join us in enriching lives and the future of performing arts in Flint and beyond.

Don’t worry — we’ve made it very easy to contribute. (Not to mention, a whole lot of fun!) Here are a few great ways to get involved:

Come party with FIM and the United Way of Genesee County on Saturday, October 5 as FIM presents Morris Day and the Time at the Capitol Theatre! Sponsorships are still available and all proceeds from the concert will benefit KidsTix. Contact Robert Benish for more information at rbenish@thefim.org or 810-237-3111

Attend Flint Under the Stars each month at the Capitol Theatre. Donate what you wish for admission, and all proceeds benefit KidsTix. (Not to mention that you’ll also be supporting incredible local talent! Who doesn’t love a two-fer?!)

Enjoy the big game on the big screen at Capitol Theatre! Select sporting events will be broadcast in the historic theatre, and we just ask for a donation of your choice to benefit KidsTix. You bring the team spirit, and we’ll bring the snacks!

The future of performing arts is in the hands of our children. Together, we can make sure it’s a bright one.
