The Flint Jewish Federation presents the 14th Annual Humanity in Harmony Concert, a celebration of music’s power to connect people across cultures, traditions, and communities.

This year’s concert features Grammy-nominated violinist and award-winning composer Meg Okura with the AdaMa Quartet, featuring Okura on violin, Guy Yehuda on clarinet, Tasha Warren on bass clarinet, and Dave Eggar on cello. The AdaMa Quartet will present a program that crosses the boundaries of classical chamber music, contemporary music, jazz, folk, and world influences.

This evening will also feature special guests: Mustard’s Retreat, acclaimed singer-songwriter Sheldon Low, and the FSPA Dort Honors Quartet.

Mustard’s Retreat is an Ann Arbor-based folk group whose beloved music has engaged audiences for more than 50 years.  Their music features warm harmonies, humor, and a “defiantly hopeful” celebration of community and our shared humanity.

Sheldon Low is a nationally recognized voice in contemporary Jewish music, blending pop, folk, and rock into uplifting music rooted in Jewish tradition, community, and social justice.

The Dort Honors String Quartet is an advanced ensemble of talented high school musicians from the FIM Flint School of Performing Arts who also perform with the Flint Youth Symphony Orchestra. The quartet performs locally and internationally, with recent appearances in Graz, Austria, and Paris, France, and an upcoming tour to Estonia. The ensemble is generously supported by the J. Dallas and Marcia W. Dort Trust. This year’s quartet features Emma Benton (violin) Annika Warby (violin), Sagan Zas (violin), and Caleb Wideman (cello).
