Yu-Chen Lin

Yu-Chen Lin is a distinguished cellist who has captivated audiences across North America and Taiwan with her exceptional performances. As the founder of the Novak Trio, her chamber group win the third prize at the Barbara Wagner Chamber Music Competition in 2023. In 2019, Yu-Chen earned first prize at the National Taiwan Music Competition, further highlighting her remarkable talent and musical artistry. In the upcoming summer of 2025, she will serve as a quartet-in-residence at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan. 

In addition to her achievements as a performer, Yu-Chen is deeply committed to music education. As a certified Suzuki teacher with over a decade of experience providing private lessons, she has also spent five years teaching orchestra sectionals and served as a graduate assistant at Michigan State University. Her dedication and effectiveness as an educator are well recognized. 

Yu-Chen is also an active leader in the music community. In fall 2024, she serves on the Student Advisory Committee of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA). Additionally, she relaunched and currently serves as president of the ASTA Michigan State University Chapter (Spartan Chapter), fostering connections and opportunities for fellow students.
