Wendy Hui-Yi Kao teaches violin and viola at FIM Flint School of Performing Arts. She was born in Taiwan, where she started her musical training at age five. Ms. Kao holds a doctorate from Michigan State University, a master’s degree from Temple University, an artist’s certificate from the University of Missouri-Kansa City, and a bachelor’s degree from the National Sun Yat-Sen University. She also holds certifications in the Suzuki and Paul Rolland methods.

Ms. Kao performs as a section violist with the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra and has appeared with many other orchestras across Michigan. In addition to her work as an FSPA instructor, she teaches with the Sphinx Organization and at Expressions Music Academy in Novi.
