Marianne Forys-Nolan is an FSPA alumni (percussion studio) who graduated from North Branch High School in 2000. While studying at FIM, she was a member of the Flint Youth Wind Ensemble, Flint Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Exclamation! Percussion Ensemble. After high school, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Instrumental Music Education from Western Michigan University in 2005 and then earned her Masters in Educational Technology from The University of Michigan – Flint in 2010. During her time at Western, Marianne was a member of the WMU Bronco Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble/Studio, University Concert Band, University Symphonic Band, and the University Orchestra. She also traveled to Brazil with the University Symphonic Band.  

Marianne has taught general music and band at public schools in the area and currently is the Director of Bands at Bentley Community Schools. In the past she also taught Young Musician classes on Saturday mornings at FIM. Marianne has performed with the Saginaw Eddy Concert Band, Genesee Wind Symphony, and Vassar Concert Band. 

When not teaching Marianne enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking, playing music, and going on adventures to discover new places & things.
