Andrew J. Buckley
Andrew J. Buckley is an accomplished clarinetist known for his exceptional performances and innovative concert experiences. He was recognized as the 2021 Krannert Debut Artist and made his professional debut at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Andrew has showcased his talent in prestigious venues such as Hilbert Circle Theatre, Severance Hall, and Carnegie Hall.
In 2022, Andrew recorded his debut album, “Where We Go Next,” featuring commissioned pieces for clarinet and piano. The album aims to bring the music of the younger generation into the spotlight. Andrew has performed with renowned orchestras including the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and has been a substitute clarinetist for Pure Winds. He also played as Principal Clarinetist and orchestra manager for the College Light Opera Company (CLOC) Orchestra.
Andrew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music and a Masters in Clarinet Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has received several scholarships and awards for his exceptional musical abilities. Andrew is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Michigan State University while serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
With a repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary works, Andrew is redefining the classical concert experience by incorporating mixed media elements. His performances captivate audiences and create a new dimension in musical presentations.
