Amaya Hoskins
Amaya Hoskins is a dancer, choreographer, and educator with a passion for artistic excellence. Her journey began at the age of three where she attended Delores School of Dance in Swartz Creek, MI, under the direction of Delores Bonardelli. At age eight, she transitioned to the Flint School of Performing Arts, where she trained until eighteen under the guidance of former artistic director Karen Mills Jennings.
Ms. Hoskins went on to pursue a double major in Dance Performance and Dance Education at Oakland University, studying under Gregory Patterson. During her senior year, she was selected as an apprentice for the Eisenhower Dance Company, directed by Stephanie Pizzo, before returning home in January 2020.
She is now back where it all began serving as a dance educator at the Flint Institute of Music, where she teaches the students of the adjacent Flint Cultural Center Academy, grades Kâ5. Ms. Hoskins is classically trained in ballet and modern dance, with additional experience in contemporary, hip-hop, and heels dance.
Today, her mission is to serve her community through movement, and to inspire through education.
