Alyssa Lovett is a Flint native who began her dancing career in 2009 at the FIM Flint School of Performing Arts. She trained with ABT-certified instructors and performed in FIM’s production of The Nutcracker and with all of the FSPA Dance ensembles. Her performance highlights with Flint Youth Ballet include the first movement of George Balanchine’s Serenade, staged by Jenifer Ringer, and featured roles in Les Sylphides and Le Corsaire.

Alyssa first began teaching as a student assistant at FSPA, and joined the faculty in the summer of 2024 as an instructor for Dancin’ Fun and Summer Ballet Intensive. That fall, Alyssa expanded her teaching experience at FSPA by instructing a middle school dance elective at the Flint Cultural Center Academy, leading creative movement exploration in Head Start classrooms, and teaching Pre-Ballet. She has also taught for other local organizations including Creative Expressions Dance Studio Inc., and Fli-City Studios. Developing, inspiring, and guiding artists as a FSPA student, mentor, teacher’s assistant, and now instructor, has equipped Alyssa with a unique perspective and understanding. She is on the path of broadening and developing her pedagogy as she continues to advance in her teaching career.
