Rico Bruce Wade (Director) is an associate artist with Flint Rep. He is a recent Emmy award winner as the writer and director of “Sounds From The River,” a groundbreaking multimedia  production that brought to life the rich history of music and stories born along America’s great waterways. He joins Ma Rainey after an incredible summer with the Michigan Shakespeare Festival. His work at the Rep has included Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Death of a Salesman, The Boatman, and Into the Woods. Elsewhere, his directing work includes Hoodoo Love and The Mountaintop. A proud Second City–Detroit alum, Rico helped create more than a dozen original comedy revues. On screen, you can catch him in Sincerely Brenda, 490, and Songs From My Right Side. Beyond the stage and screen, Rico has taught at Michigan Actors Studio, Wayne State University and with the Detroit Creativity Project. He also helped launch “Improvisation in Business Organizations” at WSU and co-wrote the textbook Improv(e) Business.
