Flute. Bryan Guarnuccio completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Michigan State University in flute performance where he served as teaching assistant in both the flute and music theory areas. As a winner the solo competition sponsored by Manhattan Concert Productions and MSU, he made his Carnegie Hall debut at Weill Recital Hall, performing Lowell Liebermann’s Sonata for Flute and Piano. During his doctoral studies, he was a semi-finalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, as well as a prizewinner in the SEMFA Ervin Monroe Young Artist Competition. He also advanced in the MTNA Chamber Music Competition as well as the National Flute Association Young Artist Competition. Prior to MSU, Bryan earned his masters degrees in flute and music theory from Bowling Green State University and his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Ball State University. Dr. Guarnuccio is currently second flutist with the Lansing Symphony and frequently performs with the Traverse City, Southwest Michigan, Kalamazoo, Jackson, and Flint Symphonies. He has previously served on faculty at St. Xavier University as an Aural Skills instructor and staff accompanist.
