Guitar. Steven Prevett is an active composer, songwriter, performer and educator from Flint, Michigan. In 2014, Steven earned his A.F.A. in Music from Mott Community College where he studied classical guitar under Dr. Mari Yancho. In 2018, he earned his B.S. in Music from Central Michigan University where he studied classical guitar under Dr. Brad DeRoche, and music composition under Dr. Jay Batzner, Dr. David Gillingham and Dr. Scott Harding, respectively. In addiction to guitar, Steven teaches ukulele, banjo and mandolin. As a multi-instrumentalist, he has developed a unique style of writing, teaching and performing ranging anywhere from classical to popular music.

Steven primarily composes music and songs for musical theater, live theater, and short films. Other works include solo and collaborative music, ranging from experimental, bluegrass, classical, folk and comedy. As an educator, Steven has had the pleasure of teaching hundreds of wonderful students of all ages as young as 5 to older adult. He has taught throughout Michigan, primarily in the Tri-cities, Midland, Mt. Pleasant & Oakland areas. Steven strongly believes in the importance of music education, that music should be explored and shared with everyone. He is excited to be a part of the FSPA faculty.
