Lina Patel
Lina Patel is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work often explores disability, non-traditional relationships, politics, and power in an unstable world. Her work has been commissioned and presented across the country & the pond. Her new play, Sick Girl or Don’t Hate Me Cuz I’m Pretty was workshopped at New Harmony Project’s inaugural PlayFest Indy. Her rom-com adaptation of a 15th century commedia, Traces of Desire, was recently published by Bloomsbury. On television Lina has served as writer-producer for various series including, Ava DuVernay’s, Cherish the Day, exploring Black love and Warner Bros character-driven sci-fi drama, Krypton.” As an actor/voice-over artist, Lina recently appeared on ABC’s Will Trent and voiced Jeanne Sakata’s Earphones Award-winning adaptation of The Secret Garden. She is a member of Ammunition Theatre Company and the Director of Rogue Machine Theatre’s Playwright’s annual Playwright’s Roundtable.
