Matthew Van Gessel (Steve) is an actor, director, writer, and clown based out of New York. His theater credits include The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memory, Spring Awakening, and Planet Heart as well as hosting variety shows as his clown alter ego, Dr. Pockets. In film he’s appeared in The Sudbury Devil, Bookworm, and RedDrop, among others. As a film director his work includes Winning Streak, Greasepaint, and We Want Faces So Bad, which have played festivals around the world.
