To provide music instruction for K-5 elementary students of the Flint Cultural Center Academy.
Professional Development starts mid-July 2019.
Classes start August 19, 2019.
The candidate will lead students during twice weekly classes at the FSPA. Grades K-3 will have classes in basic vocal, piano and violin skills. Grade 4 classes will be choral and string ensembles. Grade 5 classes will be choral, strings and band ensembles.
Bachelor's Degree in the field required and related teaching experience preferred.
Basic vocal and keyboard skills are required; violin skills could be learned with on-site training.
Full-time potential may be available with the addition of other opportunities with the Flint School of Performing Arts and community partnerships.
The Flint Cultural Center Academy will open in August 2019 with 350-400 students in grade K-5. Students will be offered the opportunity to have an innovative educational experience as well as attend daily programs around the Flint Cultural Center, including the Flint School of Performing Arts.
