ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing (Interim), the Marketing Manager will use strong marketing and technical skills to develop and coordinate marketing campaigns to promote a wide range of FIM presentations and productions. The Marketing Manager works closely with External Relations staff and external vendors to integrate campaigns and ensure effectiveness across all marketing channels. The Marketing Manager will support various initiatives of the External Relations team and collaborate positively and effectively across all FIM divisions.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ensure marketing workbook content is complete, proofed for accuracy, updated as needed, and transferred as needed to event resume.
      • propose announce, pre-sale, on-sale dates, and media announcements
      • discuss market segments, proposed marketing mixes as needed to coordinate and schedule CRM list pulls
      • troubleshoot portfolio events that are not meeting sales projections
      • troubleshoot potential conflicts with non-portfolio FIM eventsPresent event portfolio marketing workbooks at weekly ER sales meeting
    • Plan and propose event marketing campaigns for director approval:
      • work within contract budget, comply with all contract/rider specifications, and consult with tour agent for required content and approvals,
      • acquire marketing assets including playbills, and distribute to appropriate staff and vendors, and as necessary write and edit content,
      • secure media and marketing sponsor partners as appropriate,
      • plan and/or purchase placements (or ensure purchase) for all media (OOH, print, social, digital, radio, television),
      • plan social media strategy and coordinate schedule with ER staff
      • plan, schedule and distribute rack cards and posters
      • coordinate with appropriate staff on any related fundraising and patron engagement efforts
      • responsible for proofreading, and editing creative and technical content across all channels for clarity, accuracy, completeness and compliance with contract specifications,
      • work closely with Sr. Manager Audience Insights and Digital Marketing and Website Specialist to plan campaigns that are measurable and meet objectives for engagement, conversion and earned revenue.

      Plan and execute marketing campaigns for FIM presents at Whiting Auditorium and Capitol Theatre event portfolio working with tour agents, internal staff, and external vendors from contract through event to ensure successful sales cycle and maximize earned revenue:

  • Attend weekly pre/post event meetings (in-person).
  • Work with Sr. Manager Marketing Operations to coordinate production and ensure installation of all FIM venue marketing collateral in order to leverage and maximize cross-promotional opportunities (includes signage, poster display, rack cards, table tents, GOBO, overhead digital screens, and all marquee displays/messages, etc.)
  • Provide on-site marketing support day of event for media, marketing partners, photographers, etc. and provide reports for settlement.
  • Develop and update Whiting/Capitol stage announcements/scripts/voice overs including Capitol movie video and voice over pre-roll, as needed.
  • Support season launch planning and execution.
  • Adhere to FIM Brand standards and brand identity system following documented brand guidelines.
  • Provide responsive service to requests from external relations team for marketing content and support and attend meetings as requested.
  • Additional duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in marketing related position.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management with ability to effectively prioritize, organize, and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experienced in social and digital media platforms.
  • Excellent command of written English including strong editing skills with a high degree of attention to detail and copy accuracy.
  • Demonstrated skill at professional and effective verbal and written communications.
  • Strong technology skills and aptitude for learning and adapting to new platforms, including but not limited to, Google AdWords & Analytics.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFIT INFORMATION:

  • Full Time Exempt
  • Salary Range: $40,000 – $60,000
