Title:                            Flint Repertory Theatre Community Administrator

Supervisor:                Managing Director

Flint Repertory Theatre’s Community Administrator will serve as the primary point of contact between Flint Repertory Theatre and its various partners and groups. This office-staff person will work primarily Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm, with a one-hour lunch, with occasional weekend and evening events.  The position reports directly to Flint Repertory Theatre’s Managing Director, and will also serve as backup to Flint Repertory Theatre’s Office Administrator in attending to day-to-day operations for the organization’s office needs.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates interaction between Flint Repertory Theatre and organizations in Flint, Genesee County and beyond
  • Identifies ticket-buyer groups and serves as their liaison
  • Provides hospitality for actors, patrons, meeting and rental guests, as needed
  • Researches the themes of the plays and community contacts with potential connections to the themes
    • Share research findings and contact information with Flint Repertory Theatre staff
  • Seeks out, cultivates and grows relationships with individuals and groups, including but not limited to, businesses, community organizations, clubs and colleges, with the goals of increasing audience engagement with the plays’ themes and attendance at performances
  • Assists in the creation of ancillary activities around each production
  • Provides written and timely information to Flint Repertory Theatre staff regarding follow-up measures needed to engage contacts in building long-term relationships with the theatre
  • Serves as point of contact for audiences on the days of LTT performances
  • Keeps informed of all relevant information so as to provide answers to community questions
  • Coordinates volunteers
  • Liaises with the Marketing and Production staffs to arrange any complimentary tickets
  • Organizes and Coordinates logistics of rentals in conjunction with the Managing Director
  • Provides front office support as needed, including but not limited to:
    • Greets patrons in administrative office
    • Answers telephones
    • Provides lobby presence
    • Education registrations
    • Learning Through Theatre registrations
  • Maintains a professional front office/lobby appearance
  • Attends first read through of all productions
  • Attends all Flint Repertory Theatre staff meetings
  • Participates in Flint Repertory Theatre and FIM special events, as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

  • High school diploma required, significant college credits preferred
  • Customer service experience required
  • Cash handling experience desired
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in professional office environments
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs
