FIM COVID Policy

As of August 25, 2022 – Keep Yourself Safe – Keep Others Safe

All mask and testing mandates have been lifted throughout all FIM buildings (J Dallas Dort Music Center, Whiting Auditorium, Capitol Theatre, MacArthur Recital Hall, and Elgood & Bower Theatres) unless the organization is contractually obligated.

It continues to be the policy of the Flint Institute of Music (FIM) that for the safety of its staff and patrons, masks and vaccinations are encouraged. Please do not attend an event if you are feeling sick or are known to have been recently exposed to someone testing positive for COVID. Our COVID refund policy remains in place. Please Keep Yourself and Others Safe. 

As of August 25, 2022 – FOR FLINT REPERTORY THEATRE

Mask and testing mandates have been lifted throughout all FIM buildings: J Dallas Dort Music Center (includes MacArthur Recital Hall), Whiting Auditorium, the Capitol Theatre, and the William S. and Claire M. White Center (includes Elgood & Bower Theatres).  For certain programming,  FIM may be contractually obligated to require masks, proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID test.

Currently, patrons attending a production of the Flint Repertory Theatre are not required to wear masks but are recommended.

Please Keep Yourself and Others Safe. Please do not attend an event if you are feeling sick are know you have had direct exposure to someone with COVID. Our COVID refund policy remains in place.

As of March 21, 2022 – FOR FLINT SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS

Effective immediately, all who enter the J. Dallas Dort Music Center (Flint Institute of Music), including FSPA are no longer required to wear masks. This includes FSPA students, families, faculty, and staff.   Masks will still be encouraged and available for those entering the building. FSPA lessons, classes, and ensembles will continue to use a 6’ distance guideline in classrooms and studios. Hand sanitizer and sanitizer wipes will remain available thought the building, and thorough cleaning protocols will continue. FSPA classes will remain 6ft apart when two or more gather. We request that students stay home if they exhibit any signs of illness before attending classes, rehearsals, or performances.
