Public Safety/Building Operations Officer

Supervisor:         Public Safety/Building Operations Supervisor

MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
MUST HAVE A VALID MICHIGAN DRIVER'S LICENSE
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE WITH VARYING SHIFTS
 
Responsibilities
• Conduct foot patrols of the building and grounds
• Conduct motor patrols of the grounds
• Respond to customer requests
• Ensure building is secure
• Maintain necessary reports and logs
• Assist in room set ups and take downs
• Serve as back up to Building Cleaning staff as needed in cases of emergency
• Other duties as assigned

• Attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external staff/patrons
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Talent for dealing with the public and volunteers
• Ability to maintain a calm and cheerful manner when under pressure
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to walk for repeated periods of time
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
 
Education
• High school diploma required
• Security or public safety experience preferred
• Customer service experience preferred
